At the firm of Patrick J. Gibbs, P.C., Attorney at Law, I have been in practice for more than 35 years, focusing the last 20 years of my professional career mainly on estate planning and probate law issues. I have personally handled more than 1,500 estate plans. I emphasize solutions, looking for ways to get the outcome you want in an efficient and cost-effective way.

My Approach

I take a holistic approach, looking carefully at how your estate planning strategies will affect other aspects of your life. I believe that a will or a trust is important, but I also believe that it is only one component of your overall estate planning package. I will look at probate and non-probate assets, including life insurance and retirement funds, helping you implement planning techniques that minimize the risk of loss because of estate taxes. Your plan can use techniques to protect your assets for your loved ones.

My Practice

I concentrate my practice on issues related to estate planning and probate. I will help you determine the most effective approach to meet your unique objectives and will prepare and execute all the documents necessary to put your plan in place, including wills, trusts, special needs trusts, powers of attorney and advance medical directives/living wills. I can also help protect your rights if your loved one died without a will.

I work with people who have been appointed as executors or administrators of an estate, helping them meet the requirements to successfully navigate the estate administration process, starting with the probate court. I will also help you plan for the possible need to pay for nursing home or other long-term care.
